How are the sugars doing? I hope you haven't had anymore lows like the one. I enjoyed Leah's comment about the calloused fingers. Mine look like they are dirty due to all the black pin holes. But, they still bleed and I don't have to put the lancet any further down in it. I hate being a pin cushion, but it is part of our lives that we can't get past. I have been having trouble keeping up with everything since I had a terrible ethics class this last term. It had about three times the work that my other classes had. Then to top that off, I had surgery on my hand and got an infection in the incisions and had to have a cast on for an extra two weeks. When you are taking online classes, having just one hand is very difficult to say the least. I don't hunt and peck well. lol Anyway, that class is done and over with, so I am taking a week off before the next classes start. Better get back to work. Just wanted to touch bases with you and make sure you are doing okay. Take it easy and keep those sugars up -- or down -- or both. ;)

Hey Steven! I'm doing good... took a little family trip to the (hot) Texas coast for a bit and now we are back. I'm back into the work grind too. Be sure to not work too hard! I'm doing okay these days. You should be proud of your results and progress! Good job!

Congrats on your future callused fingers!

But seriously I am glad you are getting things straightened out with your insurance company. At times that seems to be the most daunting part. It seems as though your spirits are up, that is good!

Glad you like the pics! Those cuties are my nieces and they are AWESOME!

Hey Steven! Just wanted to check in! Hope that you are doing well... did you find a new "poker" (aka lancet device) that you like??

I'm so glad to hear things are looking up for you. I hope it continues.

I think I am about to win the war on test strips... no I am not get the Navigator, BUT... my mother is a type 2 and gets her strips for free, so I plan on getting a meter that uses her strips, Kristin on this site gave me a link to a cheap, but good meter that you can get for free by ordering 2 boxes of strips (around $30 for 2) AND a friend of mine is an RN, so she is bound and determined to find me unused test strips that are just lying around!

so what have we learned from this lesson? tudiabetes.com, befreind an RN and get a diatbetic parent

I think I am ready to conquer the world now... Have a great weekend!

You never know how your body is going to react day to day to insulin. Some days you eat the same breakfast do the same bolus and still go low or high. You win some, you lose some.

Hey Steven!

I just wanted to check in with you and see how you are doing. I hope you are starting to find a few positives amongst all the chaos. Things can get daunting at times but sticking close to the positives can make ALL the difference!

HAVE A GREAT REST OF THE WEEK! :-)
