HealthSimple: Coolest Carb Count Toolkit Yet

Clearly, many of you are not into detailed logging of your diabetes records.  Honestly, I’m not that diligent with the logging either.  But I do love to have a close look at all the newest tools on the market for managing diabetes. Anything that can help with carb-counting is of particular interest, because I’m [...]

“Diabetes: Underrated, Insidious and Deadly”

Who caught yesterday’s New York Times article in which Dr. John Buse states that diabetes is the “Rodney Dangerfield of diseases,’’ meaning it don’t get no respect?  Yipes! Apparently he has a point, as evidenced by results of focus groups run by the American Diabetes Association: “On a scale of 1 to 10, cancer and heart [...]

Paying for CGMS Day

The online diabetes community, led by Gina Capone, has dubbed today a special day to lobby for insurance coverage of new continuous glucose monitoring systems. The idea is that we all raise our voices, by talking openly about how important CGMS is to our health, whether it’s simply for preventing lows at the gym or [...]

Linkfest Monday

I’m simply drowning in interesting stuff I’d like to post about. But an in-depth look at everything in my inbox is not going to happen. So to brighten up your Monday, some juicy links: * Insulin analogs are no better than the real deal?  A closer look reveals that this is a [...]

Hello from DiabetesMine.com

Hello Everyone at TuDiabetes.com,

It's me, AmyT from DiabetesMine.com. I'm Type 1 since May 2003, currently using the OmniPod wireless pump and loving it.

This is a wonderful community. So glad to "meet" you all here! I wish I had more time to play around with it, but do come see my daily… Continue

I've been asking people on here how they've liked the omnipod. I should be starting on it in December once the waranty is up on my minimed. Has there been anything you dont like or some things that you think are great?

Remember you wanted to be able to move things around on your member page? Now you can. It's pretty much as easy as drag and drop: pretty slick! :)

Amy, I've been on about two months, and my OmniPod experience has, so far, been fantastic. I love the convenience, my readings are great (ave. BG since I've been on the pod is 115; 92 last seven days), and I've cut my daily insulin almost in half. My only problem is that I have to remove a pod for my weekly basketball game, but that's really no big deal.

Amy, your blog helped convince me to try the OmniPod and led me to this site. I really like the pod after using it for about three weeks now. My insulin use has dropped almost in half, and my readings are better and more consistent. I'm really looking forward to my next A1C, which has crept up to 7.5 most recently. I enjoy your blog.
