I'm about 30 miles west of austin off hwy 290. it has the advantages of the country and the proximity of a large city. Not great for gardens, though. I grew up in pasadena, then air force, to laport for 10 yrs and then to grapeland, tx for 15. I moved here a year ago. I am thinking about trying the "snowbird" routine....North for summer, texas for winter, so first opportunity I'll give it a try.
You getting any rain down there? There is a high pressure system over us and will not go away. The heat is terrible.
Hey, Ken. I've read some of your comments on the variousforums. You have some interesting insights. I see you are from houston. I was raised in Pasadena. I went to sam rayburn hs. what part of houston are you in?
holler if ya need me.....
LOL Ken....you are so right - fish and chip shops are absolutely everywhere here in U.K.....though being taken over by curry houses now, as well. the best fish and chips I ever have is in Hastings by the sea, where I was brought up - walking along the seafront with fish and chips in NEWSPAPER..that is the best..:) take care....Cathrynn
Hi Ken,
Thanks for adding me as a friend. We have been having some pretty warm temperatures here in St. Louis. How are you doing in Houston?
It is great to have you in the family. I see you posting with the rest of us and always enjoy reading what you write.
Hi Ken!
Thanks for the invite. About the cost of strips - I learned early on to look at the price of the strips, then see if I liked the meter, because that is how they make their money! Luckily my insurance pays for my strips, at least for the time being, they do so like to change what they'll cover. I've been diabetic for 22 years now, and I don't think I've ever paid for a meter - the companies keep giving them to me through my insurance plan so that I'll use their strips, I must have about 4 or 5 meters! Kind of crazy.
Take care....Linda
