Greetings! D first entered my life 6 1/2 years ago, when my middle child (then age 2 1/2) was dx'd with type 1 diabetes. Over six years later...and two more diabetes diagnoses in my immediate family (all 3 kids have D)....here I am, still plugging away, trying to do the best job I can of managing their diabetes without losing my mind!
I likely wouldn't have made it this far without the support and friendship of other parents of kids with diabetes. However, I also feel a special connection to adults who have diabetes themselves. I look at them and think "that is what I want for my kids: to grow up into healthy, smart, fun-loving adults." My hat's off to all of you!
