We go back to the USA for a visit about once a year, but then usually for a longer visit, like 3 weeks. But with the modern world (email Skype etc), I am in daily contact with my family! I think we keep in better touch than many families that live in the same city :)
Look forward to hearing more from you in our discussions and learning how you get such an awesome A1c!!
Hey Doug, that's great that another book is in the works!! My husband and I both love your book on exercise (my husband does not have D, but is an excellent "Type 3"- LOL). I wish I could get to those conferences-- sounds like the CWD is going to be pretty good this year, and I'm sure the DESA one will be great, too.
Have you heard of Diabetes Training Camp? That's another thing on my long-term wish list. My CDE (who is also T1) is going to it this year so I'm looking forward to hear what she thinks of it. I would love to improve my running times, but I haven't quite ironed out my temporary basal settings and pre-race carb intake, so I seem to still have too much variability in my numbers. But I know practice makes perfect so I'm just going to keep experimenting. :)
Hope you have a great week,
Katie I.
Looks like we were diagnosed in the same year...mine was December 1970...I think I had it long before then though. I was very, very skinny. My parents had already seen this with my brother 6 years prior..then me...go figure. Do you have siblings and if so, do they have diabetes? Man, you have a great A1C!! And you own a weight loss business....I need to lose 15 pounds..any suggestions other than eating right and exercise. I hate the exercise part, but I have started eating right just last week. I'm following the "You On A Diet" by Dr. Oz (I love him) My daugher is getting married in Dec and I bought a dress to small...just so I would be motivated to get into it because I will be in so many pictures and plasterd on other peoples walls. I weigh 125 ...but....I am only 57" tall. What about symlin? I heard that you can lose weight with that plus the benefit of better sugars...or should it be the other way around..LOL.
Have a great day,
Robin

Thank you guys...
Pls remember things aren't always as they seem. All will be told sometime in the near future.
Welcome.
Have a look at the groups here in TuDiabetes. As you've had D for over 20 years, you'd qualify for the diabetes veterans group.
glad to have you aboard, erich has been really great about spreading the tudiabetes word!!
if you need anything just let me know.

You going to be at CWD, right? I will be there, so we will have time to chat in person! :)
