Hi Scott! I wanted to run a question by you....

Early when I started this discussion about frequent low blood sugars, I was reassured by your helpful response that mild hypoglycemia generally comes with good control.

From a comment you made on someone's blog post, I looked into the Bgat (online version), which warns strongly about the danger of lows (even mild lows), but it wasn't clear from their presentation exactly WHY even mild lows are so bad. I understand that mild lows can turn into severe hypoglycemia, but do you know of some other negative effect of lows that i should be aware of??

As I am preparing for pregnancy, my doctor even encouraged me to not panic about blood sugars in the 60's. Non-D pregnant women often go into the 60's and she even implied that it could be good for me not to be having hypoglycemia reaction (shakiness etc) in the 60's.

So I guess that I'm confused about how bad mild lows could be. What are your thoughts on this? Is there something that I am not aware of?

Many thanks!!!
